Taken
in 1944 in Dun Laoghaire, when he was mate possibly of the Cambria.
At that Mr. Pritchard was friendly with a Mr. Sheridan, an amateur
photographer who managed a cinema at the bottom of the Forty Foot Road
and who most likely took the shot while the mate was ashore for a paper.

He had received his appointment as permanent Master (cargo) the
previous November. Sadly, he died on 2nd February 1951, age 58. He
was C/O of the Scotia at Dunkirk. His seagoing career was eventful and
often dangerous which no doubt affected his health in the end.
