Cybi's Greek Decline We are very grateful to Nikos Thrylos for sending his excellent photos of the former St Cybi enduring a slow death in the port of Piraeus before leaving for the breakers yard. The photos left and centre were taken during the summer of 2005 at the berth she has occupied since 2001. The vessel was under arrest since 1994. The shot on the right was captured on 2nd April 2006 just after she was shifted to a different berth.
The shot labove shows the ship after another move within the port on 16th April 2006. The Port of Piraeus actually put out a tender in order for the lowest bidder to remove the Theseus, and two other vessels, from the area. Just after 21.00hrs on Saturday 27th May 2006 the Theseus was seen departing Piraeus under tow by the tug Aegean Pelagos, bound for breakers at Aliaga in Turkey.
