Joining the Stena Line fleet at Holyhead in 2006 was the Damen Stan Tug 1906 St David, a happy choice of name, albeit a slightly smaller vessel than the last to honour the Welsh saint!

Her main functions at the port centre on mooring, pushing and towing duties, but she has, from time to time, served as relief Pilot vessel.

Accommodation is provided for four persons, consisting of one crew cabin for four, a galley and sanitary facilities. The Vessel is suited to transport twelve passengers, seated in the wheelhouse.

The St. David has a length O.A. of  19.70 metres and a breadth O.A. of 6.38 metres.  Draught (aft) is  2.65 metres and displacement is 138 tonnes. Owned by Stena Line Ports she is carries an MCA workboat code category 2, and is permitted to operate 60 miles from a safe haven. Speed is 11.7 knots and max bollard pull - full ahd. is 22.4 ton (m) Engines are 2 x Caterpillar 3412C TA/B while nozzles are 2 x 1500 mm van de Giessen Optima
